Welcome to RepairCraft Upper Hutt – your local repair option
Every day, perfectly good items are thrown away simply because they’re worn, broken, or a little worse for wear. We believe there’s a better way.
RepairCraft is based on old school attitudes and modern techniques. We believe that if it worked once, it can work again. Admittedly, sometimes we can't find suitable parts, and sometimes costs cannot be justified but in general, if it can be repaired, we're keen to take a look.
We link with a group of experienced craftspeople; repairers, makers, and restorers who bring together diverse skills to keep valued items working and out of the landfill. From delicate ceramics, jewelery and vintage radios, to bikes, electronics, woodworking, metalwork, mechanical items and more — we usually know someone who knows how to bring it back to life.
What we do
- Repair & Restore – We fix a wide range of items for companies, individuals, community groups, clubs, and charities.
- Reuse & Recycle – Our focus is always on extending the life of what you already have.
- Reduce Waste – Every repair helps cut down on unnecessary landfill and reduces retail churn.
- Affordable & Community-Focused – Quality craftsmanship at a moderate and accessible price.
- Share Knowledge – We love sharing how things work and encouraging a culture of repair.
Why repair?
- Because every repair is part of a bigger story.
- Because restoring & reusing beats replacing.
- Because a skilled fix is far better for the planet - and often cheaper - than buying new.
